According to this article, 2009 is the year of telepathy. Don't miss the end of the piece, where we learn how group minds will emerge from implanted telepathy chips made of nano-scale materials.
first let me say that just last night my brain cells went on a very nice playdate with some nanotubes.
and in light of the fact that several of my good friends are nanotubes, i'd like to particularly highlight this final thought mr prisco offers:
"Everyone’s mind will be permanently linked to the wireless Internet, and through the Internet to everyone else’s mind. This will trigger very radical changes. In particular telepathic groups—able to instantly share and elaborate thoughts—will produce an enormous acceleration in the development and deployment of new ideas, and cause the emergence of “group minds”. And once neural communication is sufficiently deep, accurate and fast, it will be possible to transfer the informational content of a person’s brain, with memories, thoughts and feelings, to a higher performance storage and processing device. This “mind uploading” technology may eventually provide practical immortality."
clearly i would upload my history to google docs, but i don't think i'd join telepathic yahoo group-equivalents. boundaries...
thanks for sharing this and that telepathic musical experience we had monday night and in this ongoing war against slow robotization.
